Welcome to the official Structural Cranes web site
Mobile Crane Hire Company Structural Cranes is the largest privately owned crane company in Newcastle. Proudly Novocastrian, Structural Cranes takes its place as a local crane company servicing business in NSWs Hunter region. Famous for being the home of the mighty Knights rugby league team, its picturesque surf beaches, being the onetime resting place of the Pasha Bulker and one of the largest coal mining and steel manufacturing cities in Australia, the lime green cranes from Structural Cranes are a regular feature, commonly seen hard at work throughout the city.
Established in 1971, Structural Cranes has been providing crane services to the Hunter region for over 37 years and has become one of the foremost authorities on mobile cranes and crane lifting expertise in the area. Offering its mobile crane service from as far south as NSWs Central Coast up as far as Port Macquarie and west to the Hunter Valley, Structural Cranes is proud to serve some of the regions most prestigious industrial, mining and utility based corporations.
With a growing fleet of 28 cranes from our smallest 2.9t mini crawler crane through to our largest 200t all terrain mobile crane we have a varied range of mobile cranes suited to almost any lifting activity required. With a further 8 cranes ear marked for delivery early next year we are gearing up to provide our customer base with a stronger more diverse fleet increasing our service options and cementing our position of having one of the most modern and capable crane fleets in the Newcastle area. Our larger cranes are predominantly the European made Demag Terex cranes. We have a strong fleet of home grown Frannas, a number of Japanese work horses from Tadano, Kato and Maeda with the odd P&H and Coles thrown in for good measure.
We are very proud of our crane fleet but we are not complacent regarding the danger these machines in the wrong hands can represent. For this reason the larger of our cranes are only operated by our most senior crane operators and every crane operator on our books is required to undertake a Heavy Plant Induction before they are deemed qualified to use our cranes. This is over and above the WorkCover National Certificate of Competency (NCC) which all our operators must have prior to entering our cranes. The WorkCover NCC determines the size of crane an operator can operate and is required by all crane operators. At Structural Cranes our Heavy Plant Induction determines the crane operators ability and understanding of the crane they are responsible for. It is an extra step which we feel demonstrates our commitment to a safer service.
The Safety of our personnel and the community that comes in contact with our cranes is of the highest importance to us and has caused us to implement what we believe to be one of the most robust OHS&E Systems in use by a crane company today. Our HSEC (Health, Safety, Environment and Community) System is a live process that is constantly looking to improve and adapt to the many needs of our customers. We do not fear the need for increased safety systems instead we embrace the opportunity to keep our people and those who work with us from harm. For a more in-depth look at our approach to safety have a look at our safety page HSEC Safety with Structural Cranes.
Structural Cranes continues to serve the Construction, Mining, Ports, Industrial, Utility and Transport companies throughout the region offering what we hope to be one of Newcastles most experienced and capable crane services. With a strong focus on safety Structural Cranes puts its cranes through a rigorous inspection and maintenance process to ensure our cranes are among the safest cranes available in Newcastle. We also have our lifting gear inspected by a 3rd party company.
